A Personal Mission

Hi, I’m Rosanna Tapia, founder of Larimar Behavioral Strategies (ESCOLAR). My journey in special education and behavioral consulting is deeply personal—I’m a mother to three incredible neurodivergent children, and I’ve walked the same path as many of the families I support.

My passion for special education started early. While attending the University of Maryland, in the United States, I helped found a sorority dedicated to raising awareness and acceptance of the autism community. But it was after my son was diagnosed on the spectrum that I transitioned from social work to education. I began as a paraeducator, working closely with children with disabilities, and soon realized that I wanted to dedicate my career to helping families navigate the challenges of raising neurodivergent children. That led me to pursue a second degree in education and spend over 15 years working directly with children and families.

At Larimar Behavioral Strategies (ESCOLAR), we take a whole-child, family-centered approach to behavioral support. We believe children thrive best in their natural environments, and our goal is to empower families with practical strategies that foster meaningful progress at home, in school, and in the community.

Whether you’re looking for guidance, tailored behavior plans, or hands-on strategies, I’m here to help.
